Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

This feel-good Aussie road-trip movie follows the journey of three Sydney-based drag queens as they take a drive through the Australian outback in a silver school bus, ‘Priscilla,’ to a booking in Alice Springs.
Scenes from the NT in the film include a performance at Lasseters Casino, driving scenes along Ernst Giles Road and the grand finale, climbing to the top of Kings Canyon.
This triumphant climb sparked a famous quote from the movie, “That’s just what this country needs: a cock in a frock on a rock.”
Located in Watarrka National Park, 450 kilometres south west of Alice Springs, Kings Canyon is accessible year-round.
Watarrka National Park contains a scenic landscape of rugged rocks, gorges and rockholes which provide a rewarding view after you’ve climbed to the top.
