Astronomers, foreign intelligence agencies and star-gazers are all attracted to Central Australia for its clear night sky, uninterrupted scenic views and lack of city light glare.

It’s the perfect place to view a total eclipse of the sun and that’s what brought a group of strangers to Alice Springs in this television movie turned television series.

The trip didn’t end with the eclipse, however, as the group became embroiled in a murder mystery and then got wrapped up in the daily life of Alice Springs.

Enjoying a pint at the local bar and exploring the outback were regular activities for these stars.

Travellers can enjoy the same desert and landscape scenery as from the television show on a visit to Alice Springs.

A bike ride to Simpsons Gap or a drive out to Santa Teresa will give any visitor their fill of desert scenery.
