Delicious. editor Kylie Walker has worked as a caterer, cook, babysitter and barmaid, but prefers the challenges of journalism. Born in country Queensland, she starting learning to cook as soon as she was old enough to hold a wooden spoon. She has worked as a journalist for newspapers and magazines in various parts of Australia and in London, where she also studied at the Leith’s School of Food and Wine.
After returning to Australia, she worked for a time as a cook before returning to journalism at The Age in Melbourne. She spent five years as editor of the paper's award-winning weekly food and wine section, Epicure, before moving to Sydney to work on Travel + Leisure magazine. She joined delicious. as editor in February this year.
She has also edited several cookbooks, and has a degree in winemaking. Kylie’s particular passions include food history and photography. She also confesses to a raging sweet tooth (and wishes Darwin’s Dimitrios Specialty Cakes would open a branch in Sydney so she could regularly indulge in their luscious galatoboureko).
