Day 1

Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve

Spend the day exploring the Mary River National Park. Join a jumping crocodile cruise on the Adelaide River followed by a visit to Window on the Wetlands and Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve, which are havens for wildlife and waterbirds. This evening join a cruise on the Mary River followed by a bush dinner and some stargazing on a secluded sandbank, surrounded by native bushland.
 

Day 2

Corroboree Billabong

Today hire a boat or join a guided fishing tour on one of the Northern Territory's most famous waterholes, the picturesque Corroboree Billabong. Consisting of a large freshwater lagoon the natural beauty and wildlife alone make a visit worthwhile. Corroboree and the adjoining rock hole are strongholds for barra and high-flying saratoga and a paradise for lure and fly fishers.
 

Day 3

Floodplain views from Ubirr, Kakadu

Follow the Arnhem Highway into World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park. Join a scenic flight over Kakadu and the Arnhem Land Escarpment, taking in aerial views of the expansive area. Cruise the East Alligator River on a ribbon of water that separates Kakadu from Arnhem Land, and learn about the Aboriginal aspects of the region, including stories of the land's creation. Continue on to Ubirr, an Aboriginal rock art site that also provides 360 degree views of the surrounding wetlands.
 

Day 4

Warradjan Cultural Centre, Kakadu

This morning stop at the Bowali Visitor Centre and learn about the park and its Aboriginal owners. Continue on to Nourlangie Rock and take a self-guided walk around the ancient rock art galleries while enjoying the views of sandstone escarpment. Visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre and learn about the culture, beliefs and lifestyle of the traditional Aboriginal owners.
 

Day 5

Twin Falls Cruise, Kakadu

Travel by four-wheel-drive to Jim Jim and Twin Falls in the southern end of the park. In the morning enjoy a walk through rocky bushland to the base of Jim Jim Falls and be rewarded with a refreshing swim in the waterhole at the base. In the afternoon head to Twin Falls and take an easy walk to join a cruise with the local Aboriginal people who will take you to the base of the falls.
 

Day 6

Gunlom Falls, Kakadu

Get up early to cruise the tranquil Yellow Water Billabong and spot birds, crocodiles and other wildlife. Travel south on the Kakadu Highway to Gunlom Falls and enjoy the white sandy beach and 150 metre cascading waterfall. For the energetic there is a challenging but worthwhile walk to the top of the waterfall where you will be rewarded with stunning views of the Australian native landscape. Drive to Darwin this afternoon via the old Jim Jim Road.
