Day 1

Uluru/ Ayers Rock

Uluru/ Ayers Rock
Start your journey with a visit to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre to learn about the cultural significance of the park from its traditional owners, the Anangu. Drive around the base of Uluru, stopping for short interpretive walks to Mutitjulu Waterhole and Kantju Gorge. End the day at the Uluru sunset viewing area. Relax as you watch the changing colour palette of the desert sky.

Day 2

Kata Tjuta on the Valley of the Winds Walk

Kata Tjuta on the Valley of the Winds Walk
Explore Kata Tjuta on the Valley of the Winds Walk. Allow around three to four hours to complete the walk and enjoy the views from the two lookouts on the way. This afternoon, hit the road and drive around 300 kms to Watarrka National Park. Watarrka is best known for Kings Canyon, a sandstone chasm that plunges 270 metres into the landscape. Tonight, enjoy a six-course dinner under the stars at Kings Canyon Resort.

Day 3

Kings Canyon

Kings Canyon
Rise early and head to Kings Canyon to follow the 6-kms track around the canyon rim. It's a challenge, but you'll be rewarded by breathtaking views of the escarpment. For an even better view, take a helicopter ride over the canyon for a birds-eye perspective. This afternoon, drive to Kings Creek Station, a working cattle and camel station. There are a variety of adventures on offer such as quad-biking, camel riding and motorcycle rides. Spend the night camped under the stars or in one of the permanent tents.

Day 4

Mount Conner

Mount Conner and West MacDonnell Ranges
This morning continue the drive back to Uluru. On the way stop in at Curtin Springs Station and Mount Conner, a large mesa three times the size of Uluru. If you have the time, join a guided tour around the cattle station or to Mount Conner. Finish the day back in Yulara at one of the great restaurants at Ayers Rock Resort. Alternatively you may wish to try some four-wheel-driving on the Mereenie Loop Road. Spend the day travelling through the West MacDonnell Ranges and end your journey in Alice Springs.
