Birds at Newhaven Reserve

Travel with well know Australian naturalist Tonia Cochran to Newhaven Sanctuary, the property owned and managed by the Australian Wildlife Conservancy in conjunction with Birds Australia. Birding stops are many and frequent, and include such places as Tilmouth Well, Old Gurner Homestead, Dingo Hill, Lake Bennett, Freshwater Bore, Fairy Wren Drive, Babbler Bore, and Glen Helen in the West Macdonnell Ranges.

Birds in the Park
Bird Walkabout
Enjoy this unique dawn birdwatching tour led by one of our expert bird guides. Tour includes binocular hire, all day Park entry and concludes with a light breakfast in a natural setting.
Tour runs every Wednesday and Saturday - In summer from 6:30am, and in winter from 7:30am. The tour duration is approximately 2 hours.
Please call to confirm tour departure time and arrive at Park entry station 10 minutes prior to tour departure.

Bird Watchers Paradise

Travel with a small group through five ever changing ecosystems including gibber flats, red sandhill and spinifex plains, rock escarpments, heavy timber country and remote permanent waterholes. This is a pure 4WD camping experience and allows you to “get to where others cannot” to see an amazing variety of desert bird species. The added surprise on this trip are visits to the major icons - Uluru, Kata Tjuta, and Watarrka.
