Working Holiday in Australia's Outback
German boilermaker Martin Taschenmacher is on a three month working holiday with a group of backpacking friends at Napperby Station in Outback Australia.
The remote, dusty red country seems more like Mars than earth and the closest town is Alice Springs, three hours away. This is cattle country, where the stock are mustered on horseback, yards are welded and built from scratch and the garden provides all the fresh produce for dinner. There are no supermarkets out here! To sum it up, Martin says the experience is out of this world.
Like Martin, you can experience Australia's Outback and the Northern Territory whilst backpacking in Australia.
