Arriving in 1981 to gain some experience, Chief District Ranger Chris Day is still on duty at West MacDonnell National Park and he’s learning something new every day.

The West MacDonnell Ranges are one of the most dramatic landscapes of Central Australia and travellers can trek through chasms, across the rocky spine of the ranges and swim waterholes on any section of the Larapinta Trail.
