Trek, canoe or fish through the ancient landscapes of Nitmiluk National Park. A local aboriginal ranger in Nitmiluk National Park, Greg Peckham draws his inspiration from the river and talks about the aboriginal culture surrounding the Katherine Gorge.
This region is homeland for the Jawoyn Aboriginal people and Nitmiluk is their word for Cicada Dreaming.
Visit from April through October to canoe through the gorges or between the overhanging paperbarks on the Katherine River, swim in the park’s ever-flowing waterfalls and trek to ancient Aboriginal rock art galleries on the Jatbula Trail.
